Who we are. World Research Union is operated by WRU London Ltd (Company No. 17313326), registered in England & Wales. We are the data controller for the information you provide here.

What we collect. Your name, email, username, password (stored encrypted), affiliation, designation, country, research field and research profile link.

Why we use it.

• To create and manage your membership, member ID, badge and certificate.
• To send you essential service emails about your account.
• To show your institution in aggregate, anonymous statistics (for example, member counts by country).
• Only with your consent below: to send you research opportunities, to list your profile in the member directory, and to share your profile with research collaborators.

Who can access it. WRU staff and the trusted service providers who host our website and email, acting only on our instructions. We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it. For as long as your membership is active, and only as long afterwards as needed for legal or administrative purposes.

Your rights. Under UK and EU GDPR you may access, correct, export or delete your data, and withdraw any consent at any time, by writing to info@wrunion.org. Withdrawing consent does not affect your membership. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
